It’s the old “hold an event at the bar” trick!
Join us at the Tiki Bar this Saturday from 8pm onwards to celebrate the release of the new Get Smart movie! Take in a cabaret show whilst enjoying our new “Cone of Silence” cocktail - made with the most exotic and excellent 42 Below Feijoa Vodka, lime juice and Chartreuse. Dress in “secret agent” costume or bring your Get Smart ticket stub for special offers throughout the night! Email info@tikiloungeandbar.com for more info! Steve Carrell or someone who may or may not look a little bit like him in certain light may be in attendance*! We may or may not be playing old school Get Smart episodes which may or may not include favourite characters such as Hymie, Larabee, and Siegfried!
Be sure that you don’t “miss it by that much”.
Kev
*Tiki Lounge and Bar does not guarantee that someone who may or may not look a little bit like Steve Carrell in certain light will be attending the event.

The Melbourne Zombie Shuffle was an absolute lark! We went down to the event to hand out some flyers for our “Melbourne Zombie Shuffle Reviver”. Many thanks to the undead who made it in to the bar to kick back with a few zombie cocktails and watch zombie movies after a long afternoon of shuffling through the post-apocalyptic Melbourne landscape.
Be sure to check the gallery for more photos of the event.

Greetings to our undead readers!
This Saturday marks the 2nd 3rd annual Melbourne Zombie Shuffle - an event where local zombies are free to roam from the Carlton Gardens to Crown Casino through the wonderful city of Melbourne. For those Zombies needing refreshment after participating in the Zombie Shuffle, Tiki Lounge and Bar is offering a place to put up your tired and rotting feet. The Zombie Shuffle Reviver will be offering door prizes and “stuff” to people who turn up in costume and will be selling our most popular drink which, coincidently, happens to also be the Zombie.

Last night’s Cinema Exotica was an unmitigated success! Many thanks to the Graveyard Tramp (check out his great blog) for delving into the archives and producing some great cinematic entertainment!
I’ve included a photo of our enthralled audience enjoying the b-grade horror feature “Homicidal”, but the barstaff’s vote for best part of the night goes to the incredibly classy and high-brow moving pictures of topless go-go dancers of the 1960s. Very artistic!
If you have photos of the event that you would like to share in our gallery please send them to photos@tikiloungeandbar.com.
We will be holding more of these nights in the near future - Keep your eyes on the event calendar.
Cheers,
Kev

Hiya!
On Saturday 24th May, the Tiki Bar will once more be hosting “Cinema Exotica” - an evening of tacky horror and B-grade schlock films of the 20th century.
The feature film will be the 1961 William Castle film “Homicidal” and is going to be presented by friend-of-the-bar Graveyard Tramp one of Melbourne’s well-known experts in all things pulp and pop.
The unique feature of this Psycho-inspired film was a special “Fright Break”, where those who were too frightened to watch the horrific climax were allowed a few minutes to make their way to the Coward’s Corner to sit out the remainder of the film apart from the rest of the audience - no doubt to derision from their fellow film-goers.
The bar will be serving special “horror related” drinks with names like “Blood and Sand” and “Corpse Reviver #2″.
For those technologically inclined, below is a link to the event within Google Calendar (just so you don’t forget).
Cheers,
Kev

Today is World Cocktail Day! 202 years ago today, the word “cocktail” first appeared in print on the pages of “The Balance and Columbian Repository”.
The Museum of the American Cocktail have arranged for this day to be one of the best excuses to drink a cocktail all year!
Happy Birthday, Cocktail!

This Friday we will be starting our weekly Friday afternoon Sausage Sizzle! It’s a very simple concept - drop by for a drink (at happy hour prices!) between 5 - 7pm on a Friday afternoon, and we will reward you with a freshly sizzled sausage! We might even throw in some bread and tomato sauce! Ain’t that generous? Sadly we won’t have any “Purplo’s” available even though they ARE the honey Cocktail Sausage (it’s amazing what you find on Google Image Search these days).
The address again for those of you who might have missed it up there in the page banner is 327 Swan Street, Richmond. Look for our snazzy new Matusalem cafe screens!
Hope to see you all there!
Cheers,
Kev.

Hey Tiki-philes!

Next weekend we will have a great band playing. They call themselves the “Surf Bossa Band” an apt name which more or less describes their style of music. Expect some heavenly lounge music from these folk coupled with our exquisite Cocktails surrounded by the island inspired decor of a by-gone era of decadence.
Much fun will be had by all!
There will be a reasonable cover charge of $8 for the night, and expect the band to kick-off somewhere in the vicinity of 9pm.
Cheers!
Kev
Please note: Bossa Nova Beer will not be served on the night - it’s just a cool picture. How rad would it be if we could get Bossa Nova beer?
