The milonga “Tango Noir” is an authentic milonga, a night of tango social dance…In our over busy lives, with no time for the imagination, and no time to give to ourselves or others, we have ” the milonga”. Tango is more than just a dance.

There is something deeper: a motionless, fathomless, dark ocean of time. A bittersweet nostalgia and awareness for the passing nature of all life and all things.

The “mythical, oft-mentioned, but indefinable experience of the tango embrace”….A heightened awareness of connection, and the special sense of a “secret inside”.

Resonating with rhythm, melody, artistry, subtlety and touch. Enrapturement in the encounter, the pleasure, humour, respect and poetry. An attraction, a passion, a curiosity, a pastime, a meditation, and deadly serious good fun…

Come and enjoy delicious Sailor Jerry cocktails in tropical Richmond, along with a screening of “Hori Smoku”, the story of the legendary Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins.

Based in Honolulu for most of his career, Sailor Jerry would come to symbolize the masculine ethos of a time when thousands of enlisted men were embanked in Hawaii, during World War II. Miles from home, ready to die, and fueled by devil-may care attitudes, these men went on shore leave with a single purpose in mind: to get “Stewed, Screwed and Tattooed.

Considered by many the foremost tattoo artist of all time, Collins is the father of modern day tattooing, whose uncompromising lifestyle and larger than life persona made him an American legend.

Attendance by RSVP ONLY to :
